Williams earns the final ACC Men's Field Performer of the Week honor
The Atlantic Coast Conference announced its final Outdoor Track and Field Performers of the Week for the 2016 season on Tuesday as teams and student-athlete gear up for this week's ACC Championships at Tallahassee, Florida. Louisville's Ben Williams was named the ACC Men's Field Performer of the Week.
Â
Williams made his outdoor triple jump debut at the Rankin/Poehlein Invitational last Saturday afternoon. He finished with a season best mark of 16.05m/52-8 to win the event. His mark currently ranks ninth in the nation and stands as the Cardinal junior's 12th career win.Â
Â
The 2016 ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships are scheduled this Friday through Sunday (May 13-15) at Florida State's Mike Long Track. ESPN3 plans 3 ½ hours of live action on the event's first two days, followed by three hours of finals coverage on the evening of Sunday, May 15. Tom Block returns to handle play-by-play for the second straight year.
