Louisville adds trio of runner-up finishes in final race prior to 2016 ACC Championship

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The Louisville rowing team earned one win and added three runner-up finishes during Saturday morning's racing against No. 10 Michigan and Michigan State on Belleville Lake.

The Cardinals third varsity crew of Margaret Geraghty (coxswain), Amanda Zalno, Caroline Lynch, Sally Rozumalski, Samantha Stoll, Madeleine Chesney, Kelsey Webb, Mallory Burnett and Abbie Wade had a time of 6:44.46 and was more than 19 seconds clear of the second place Spartans. Michigan was third at 7:07.90.

Louisville also garnered second-place finishes in the second varsity eight, varsity four and second varsity four races while the host Wolverines paced the way in each of those three events. The Cardinals also rowed to a third-place finish in the varsity eight race on Saturday.

Up next, Louisville will compete at the 2016 ACC Rowing Championship on May 13-14 in Clemson, South Carolina.
