Women's Tennis Hosts NC State Before EKU Road Match

Cards play in the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center on Friday
The University of Louisville women's tennis team (6-6, 0-4) is back in action this weekend when they host NC State on Friday and then head to Richmond, Ky. to face Eastern Kentucky on Sunday.Â
Sophomore Abbie Pahz won both of her matches for the Cardinals this past weekend by defeating Wake Forest's Samantha Asch 6-4, 6-4 at No. 5, and escaping Virginia's Victoria Olivarez 1-6, 7-5, 1-0 at No. 5.

Cardinals will host ACC foe No. 55-ranked NC State (6-3, 0-2) Â on Friday at 1 p.m. NC State is currently on a 2-game losing streak after opening conference play last weekend when they fell at No. 36 Georgia Tech, 1-6, and at No. 34 Clemson, 2-5. The Wolfpack are lead by No. 63-ranked singles player, junior Martina Frantova.

After the Cards host NC State, they will travel to Richmond, Ky to faceoff against the Colonels of Eastern Kentucky University (4-5, 0-0) on Sunday at 2 p.m. The Colonels are currently on a 2-game losing streak after they fell 1-6 at No. 20 Kentucky and 1-6 at UT-Chattanooga. The Colonels are lead by sophomore Laura Argente, who defeated the #91 singles player in straight sets last weekend, 6-3, 6-0, to improve her record to 6-3 this season at the No. 1 spot.
