Men's Golf Finishes in Second Place in First Spring Event

Three players tie for third place to pace the Cardinals
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Three golfers finished tied for seventh, and the University of Louisville men's golf team earned second at the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate Tuesday at the par 72, 6,913-yard Wexford Plantation Course in Hilton Head, S.C.
The Cardinals finished 15 shots behind Campbell, who won the tournament with a final score of 286-282-279=847. UofL shot 282-295-285=862 during the two-day event to open the spring season. South Carolina-Aiken (865) was third and UNC-Wilmington was in fourth place (869).
The second-place finish for the Cardinals was the best since a runner-up ending at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate on Oct. 13. 2015.
Robin Sciot-Siegrist, J.D. Lehman and Simon Zach akk finished with final round scores of 214. Sciot-Siegrist carded rounds of 69-75-70-214, while Lehman shot 72-72-70=214 and Zach fired scores of 70-71-73=214.
In his first event, Keegan de Lange finished 37th overall after shooting 71-78-76=225 and Hugo Esposito tied for 40th with scores of 77-77-72=226.
The Cardinals return to action at the John Hayt Invitational on Feb. 26-28.
