Lamar Jackson took in Times Square in New York with the other four Heisman finalists.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson has achieved some of his greatest accomplishments – and much of his notoriety – while on the run.
Granted the scene is different, as Jackson returns to the gridiron when the Cardinals face LSU in the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl on Dec. 31, the sophomore hasn't been idle. After flying to Atlanta on Wednesday and earning the prestigious Walter Camp and Maxwell Award Player of the Year honors on Thursday, Jackson boarded another flight and headed to New York Friday morning.
While millions of eyes have watched the quarterback attain unfathomable record and perform video-game like moves, he will have plenty more on him for Saturday's night Heisman Trophy presentation from the PlayStation Theatre in New York City on ESPN during a program that begins at 8 p.m. ET.
After arriving at the hotel on Friday, Jackson met with three other Heisman finalists and headed to lunch at a local restaurant. They all took in Times Square in New York City, capturing a few selfies throughout the tour.
The group of four then met with national media members and each posed for pictures with the coveted Heisman trophy. All four enjoyed a short break before heading to a Heisman dinner and taking in a bus sight-seeing tour of New York City.
Jackson guided the nation's top scoring offense at Louisville. He finished the regular season holding ACC and school records with 51 touchdowns responsible for (30 passing, 21 rushing), rushing yards by a quarterback with 1,538, and rushing touchdowns by a quarterback with 21. He tied an ACC mark with eight touchdowns in the season-opening win over Charlotte, including matching a school mark with six touchdown passes.
