Jackson accounted for seven touchdowns in the win over Boston College.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. Â - After being named the Walter Camp National Offensive Player of the Week for the third time on Sunday, University of Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson added to his growing list of accolades on Monday when he was named the ACC Offensive Back of the Week for the third time this season.
Jackson amassed 416 yards of total offense and accounted for seven touchdowns in the Cardinals' 52-7 win over Boston College. He rushed for 185 yards and three touchdowns and completed 12-of-17 passes for 231 yards and four touchdowns – the third time this season that he was responsible for seven of more touchdowns. The Pompano Beach, Fla., native has a national-best 45 touchdowns this season -- 19 on the ground and 26 through the air.
With 185 rushing yards, the second-year player became the first UofL quarterback to rush for over 1,000 yards in a season – finishing with 1,181 yards and improved his rushing touchdown total to a national-best 19. He was the first player to reach the 1,000-yard plateau since Bilal Powell ran for 1,405 yards in 2010.
In the win, Jackson became only the 28th FBS player in history to record over 2,000 yards passing and 1,000 yards rushing in a season.
In addition to piling up the gaudy numbers, he led Louisville to scores on five of its six offensive possessions in the first half. He opened the scoring with a 69-yard touchdown run on the game's first possession and tossed four first-half touchdown passes to give the Cards a 38-0 lead at the half.
The Cardinals return home Saturday to close their ACC season with a 7 p.m. kickoff versus Wake Forest on ESPN2.
