Sophomore picked off two passes in the win over Virginia.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville sophomore Jaire Alexander was named Atlantic Coast Conference Defensive Back of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
The cornerback recorded a pair of interceptions and six tackles in the Cardinals' 32-25 come-from-behind victory at Virginia on Saturday.
With the Cavaliers leading 10-7 in the second quarter, Alexander intercepted a pass at the five-yard line to stop an apparent scoring drive. He added another pick in the fourth quarter and returned the ball deep into Virginia territory that led to a Lamar Jackson touchdown pass.
Alexander, who now has six career interceptions, is second in the nation with five interceptions this season, registering four interceptions over the last four contests.
The Cardinals will look for their fourth-straight win when they face Boston College on the road Saturday at noon.
