Team Notes
- Louisville had its winning streak snapped at six games.
- The Cardinals failed to score on their opening drive for the second-straight contest.
- Louisville, which has scored 77 first-quarter points this season, failed to score in the first quarter for the first time this season.
- The UofL defense limited Clemson to 54 yards in the first quarter — including one-yard passing.
- With three interceptions this evening, the Cardinals have recorded a national-best 49 interceptions since the 2014 season. It was the first time the Cards totaled two or more interceptions since recording a pair versus Syracuse on Nov. 7, 2015. The three interceptions were the most in a game since picking off four passes versus Wake Forest last season.
- The Cardinals trailed at the half for the first time this season, falling behind 28-10 at the break. UofL scored the next 26 points in the game.
- The Cardinals forced a season-high five turnovers tonight versus Clemson — the most since Wake Forest turned the ball over five times last season in a 20-19 UofL win.
- Louisville's 568 yards in total offense gave the Cardinals their sixth consecutive game with over 500 yards of total offense.
Player Notes
- On his second punt of the game, redshirt freshman Mason King blasted a career-long 60-yard punt in the first quarter.
- CB Jaire Alexander picked off two passes for the first time in his career to give him a team-high three this season. Alexander has four career interceptions in his first two seasons. He's the first player to record two interceptions in a game since Josh Harvey-Clemons picked off a pair against Auburn last year in the 2015 season opener.
- S Chucky Williams picked off his second pass of the season and the fourth of his career.
- Sophomore quarterback Lamar Jackson threw a third quarter touchdown pass to James Quick for his eighth-consecutive game with a touchdown pass. He has thrown a career-high 14 for his career.
- Jackson rushed a career-high 31 times, which bested his previous mark of 22 set against Texas A&M in the Music City Bowl last season. He finished with 162 yards — the fourth 100-yard game this season and the ninth of his career, which ties him for sixth-most in school history.
- Jackson totaled 457 yards of total offense tonight to give him 5,123 for his career, which moves him into eighth place for total offense in a career after only 17 games.
- Quick caught seven passes for 83 yards — the eighth time in his career of recording five or more receptions in a game. With his third-quarter touchdown reception, the senior has 12 career scores, which places him in a tie for 12th place on the school's all-time list.
- Jackson accounted for two more touchdowns to give him 27 for the year. It's the eighth game in a row the sophomore has both rushed and passed for at least one touchdown in a game.
- Junior running back Jeremy Smith rushed for a season-high 51 yards on eight carries — scoring on a one-yard touchdown run. He had three games with over 50 yards rushing last season. He added four catches for 54 yards tonight.
- With 69 rushing yards tonight, senior running back Brandon Radcliff has rushed for 474 yards on 46 carries over the last four games (10.3 avg. per carry).
- Senior tight end Cole Hikutini, who had four previous games with four receptions, caught a career-high seven passes for 84 yards versus Clemson. He caught four passes for 85 yards and two touchdowns last week versus Marshall.
- Redshirt freshman kicker Blanton Creque hit a career-best three field goals — connecting 26, 21 and 28-yard field goals.
- Senior Josh Harvey-Clemons matched a season-high with 11 tackles tonight. It was the sixth time in the last eight games that he has recorded seven or more tackles.
