
Dorcas Wasike Earns Cross Country Freshman Performer of the Week Honors

Wasike earns her second ACC weekly Honor
LOUISVILLE, KY.-- Freshman Dorcas Wasike was one of four student-athletes who turned in outstanding individual performances, highlighting this week's Atlantic Coast Conference Performers of the Week for the 2016 cross country season. It is the second performer of the week honor for Wasike this season.
Coming off an injury, Wasike finished 30th in a highly competitive field at the Pre-National Invitational in Terre Haute, Indiana on Saturday. The Kitale, Kenya, freshman led the Cardinals with a personal best 6K time of 20:46.9, finishing with the third best-time among freshmen in a 42-team field that included eight ranked opponents.
The Cardinals will be back in action on Oct. 28 at the ACC Championships in Cary, N.C.
