Cross Country Set to Compete in the Pre-National Invitational

Cardinals have one final tune-up this weekend to prepare for the ACC Championships
Event: Pre-National Invitational
Date: Saturday, Oct. 15
Start Times: 11:35 a.m. EST Men's Blue 8K | 11:00 a.m. EST Women's Blue 6K
Place: LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Ind.
The Field: The race features 62 men's teams with eight teams in the national rankings and 69 women's teams with eight teams in the national rankings.
After 15 athletes posted career best times in the Greater Louisville Classic, the University of Louisville men's and women's cross country team gets back on the course this weekend when they compete in the Pre-National Invitational in Terre Haute, Ind. on Saturday morning. The women's 6K event begins at 11:00 a.m. with the men's 8K event following at 11:35 a.m.
Junior Bailey Davis paced the Louisville squad with a career best time of 17:37.10. Junior Mia Ross finished 55th with a time of 17:45.90, while Caroline Gosser finished with a time of 17:46.80 to place 74th.
After three straight race wins, Edwin Kibichiy looks to continue his winning streak this weekend after posting a time of 23:34.80. Calvin Chemoiywo finished third with a time of 23:41.88, while George Yator finished 39th with 24:48.73.
Following this weekends action, the Cardinals will prepare for the ACC Championship on Oct. 28.
