Women's Tennis Set to Host Morehead and Xavier

Cards are 3-0.
The University of Louisville women's tennis team will be back in competition this weekend, as it will host a double-header starting with Xavier this Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and followed by Morehead at 3:30 at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.

The Cardinals are 3-0 on the season after defeating Northern Kentucky 7-0 on Saturday. Freshman Sena Suswam led the way for Louisville in singles, registering a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Kara Skopac at No. 1. Louisville's Elle Stokes, Abbie Pahz, Jessie Paul, Olivia Boesing, and Ariana Rodriguez were also victorious against their opponents in singles.

Louisville was led in doubles by Suswam and Rodriguez, as they defeated Skopac and Daniella Donahue at 7-6, 7-4 at No. 1. The Cardinals also registered a 6-1 win from the pair of Pahz and Boesing, over Hailey Shanahan and Nicole Soutar at No.2. Sierra Nellessen and Sydney Power defeated Jessie Paul and Elle Stokes 6-4 at No.3

The Xavier Musketeers are 1-1 on the season with a win over Liberty on Jan. 22. The Musketeers are led by No. 1 singles player Sydney Liggins, who also plays No. 1 doubles. They will play Indiana before facing the Cards on Jan. 31.

The Eagles will have their season opener at Cincinnati on Saturday before heading to Louisville for a 3:30 match. Â
