Cards open the fall season with 8-5 and 6-2 wins over Bellarmine
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville softball team opened the fall season with a doubleheader sweep of Bellarmine University Sunday afternoon at Ulmer Stadium. The Cards won the first game 8-5 and took the second 6-2.
"I was really pleased with our performance today," said UofL head coach Sandy Pearsall. "I think we're way ahead of where we were last year. We got some great pitching from Maryssa Becker and our two freshmen I thought did a great job. They got off to a little bit of a shaky start, but they came in and threw well for us. At times we were very young out there, yet I think they were able to handle a lot. I'm very impressed. With continued hard work, I think we're going to have a great team."
