LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville softball team will open the 2015-16 fall season with a 12 p.m. doubleheader against Bellarmine University on Sunday, Sept. 27 at Ulmer Stadium.
"We are excited to get on the field against another team for the first time this fall season," said UofL head coach Sandy Pearsall. "Our returners have worked hard over the summer and it will be good to see our newcomers in action."
The Cardinals finished the 2015 season with a 30-19 overall record after making their 12th consecutive NCAA regional appearance. Louisville returns 13 letterwinners and six starters from last year's squad including seniors Morgan Hart, Hailey Smith, Brittany Sims and All-ACC first team selection junior Maryssa Becker. Louisville also welcomes 10 newcomers to the 2015-16 roster.
