LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Three University of Louisville men's golfers were named Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars, announced by the GCAA on Friday.
Senior Antoine LeSaux, and juniors Robin Sciot-Siegrist and Gus Lundquist were honored for their work on the golf course and in the classroom last season.
"I'm real proud of each of our young men," head coach Mark Crabtree said. "It's very impressive watching each of them excel in their classroom responsibilities. The credit goes to Marvin Mitchell and Carlton Hill for their guidance and direction."
A total of 206 players in Division I, 91 in Division II and 17 in NAIA earned the honor. Additionally, 34 honorees were added to the previously released Division III Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars.
To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I, 78.0 in Division II, 77.0 in NAIA and 79.0 in Division III, and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. A native of Caudan, France, LeSaux appeared in seven events for the Cardinals, ranking second on the squad in stroke average at 72.65. He posted three top 20 finishes, including three in the top 13. At the Boilermaker Invitational, LeSaux finished in a season-best 11th place with an even par score of 216.
Sciot-Siegrist, one of the most decorated golfers in school history, put together his best slate last season. A qualifier for the NCAA Championships after finishing in a tie for fourth overall at the Lubbock Regional, Sciot-Siegrist won an ACC title after shooting an -11 under par in one of the toughest tournaments in the country.
Lundquist, a native of Parker, Colo., earned honors after appearing in nine tournaments and posting a 75.11 stroke average. He finished a season-best 25th at the John Hayt Invitational and 27th at the Northern Intercollegiate.
