New London, N.C. - - Junior Robin Sciot-Siegrist fired an opening round 3-under par 69 on Friday to lead the University of Louisville men's golf team to a 290 team score and a sixth-place standing after the first round of the ACC Men's Golf Tournament at the Old North State Club in New London, N.C.

The event will continue Saturday morning with the second round. The tournament concludes on Sunday at the par-72 course.

The Cardinals finished with a team score of two-over-par 290, just nine shots behind team leader Clemson (281) and eight shots behind the nation's top team Florida State (282). Virginia is third at 283 and Wake Forest. Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech are tied for fourth at 284.

Sciot-Siegrist, who finished fifth at the Boilermaker Invitational last week, continued his stellar play in his first ACC Championsip and is tied for fourth after one round. Sciot-Siegrist posted birdies on holes No. 4, No. 13, No. 17 and No. 18 to pace the Cardinals on Friday. He sits two shots behind Anders Albertson of Georgia Tech, who is at 5-under par.

J.D. Lehman fired a 1-over par 73 and is tied for 23rd overall. Lehman was steady all afternoon, registering 10 pars and three birdies.

Max Walz and Antoine LeSaux also contributed even-par rounds on Friday with 72. Walz senior got off to a great start with pars on his first four holes and a birdie on No. 6. After shooting a 2-over par 38, Walz responded on the back nine with a 2-under par 34, posting birdies on No. 12 and on No. 18. LeSaux recorded four birdies, but did record a double bogey.

Sophomore Robert Geibel, who was even after the first nine holes, shot a 4-over par 76 on Friday, bogeying three of his last four holes. He sits in a tie for 41st place.
