
Seven Cardinals Earn All-ACC Academic Honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Seven University of Louisville men's basketball players have been named to the annual All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Men's Basketball team, as announced today by ACC Commissioner John Swofford.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.0 cumulative average during his academic career.
Earning the honor for the Cardinals are Wayne Blackshear, Montrezl Harrell, Anton Gill, Mangok Mathiang, Chinanu Onuaku, Terry Rozier and Quentin Snider. The seven selections was a league-high on the 21-member team. Duke placed four on the squad while Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech had three selections each.
North Carolina's Marcus Paige received the 2015 Skip Prosser Award, presented annually to the top scholar-athlete in ACC men's basketball. Sixty percent of the award, which is presented to an upperclassman with a 3.0 GPA or better, is based on academic achievement and 40 percent on athletic accomplishments. Paige and the Cardinals' Blackshear were named to the2015 Capital One Academic All-America Division I men's basketball second team on Feb. 26, the only two ACC student-athletes selected among the 15-member national team.
