LOUISVILLE NOTES

UC IRVINE NOTES
This is UC Irvine's first trip to the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship. The Anteaters had played in four NCAA Division II regionals prior to gaining Division I status on July 1, 1977. UCI won its first Big West Conference Tournament this year to earn an automatic bid.
Coming into today, The Anteaters have allowed an average of 62.3 points per game -the lowest of any UCI team. UC Irvine held Louisville to 57 points, 12 below the Cardinal's season average.
Alex Young climbed to No. 3 on the UC Irvine career assists list on Friday. The junior had 5 assists to bring his career total to 414.
