The Cardinals practiced for two hours on Saturday morning.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The University of Louisville football team opened practices in Nashville for the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl on Saturday at Father Ryan High School.
With just four days left before their sixth-straight post-season appearance, the Cardinals practiced in the morning under sunny, but windy conditions, and worked out for a little less than two hours.
UofL head coach Bobby Petrino had five periods of individual drills before the Cardinals did a lot of team work against the scout teams.
"It was a good practice," junior defensive tackle DeAngelo Brown said following the workout. "I thought we got a lot of good work in today. I thought the guys came out and worked hard, and we were able to accomplish a lot this morning."
Senior Aaron Epps thinks the team has come out with great focus for this game, which will be the final one for him during his five-year career with the Cardinals.
"I think the guys want to finish this season the right way," Epp said. "There has been good focus and concentration out there. I think team will be ready to play Wednesday night. They have worked hard and appreciate the opportunity of going to a bowl."
Louisville will have free time this evening before resuming practice on Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. for the final hard practice of the season.
Winners of seven of their last nine games, the Cardinals want end the year with a win for the seniors, but also hopes build momentum for the players returning next season.
"We definitely want to finish the year better than the way we started," Epps said. "We want to finish with a bang. We want those guys to have something build off of heading into next year".
With the game a little under three hours from Louisville, Epps expects Nissan Stadium to be like a home game.
"I expect it to be like a home game." Epps said. "They are so close that they can drive so we expect it to be just like a home game. We are looking forward to seeing our crowd."
The Cardinals will take part in the Welcome Party on Sunday night with the Aggies, which will include a Hot Chicken Eating Contest and a Song Writing competition.
"We are able to enjoy Nashville, especially tomorrow with the party and we get to go to a hockey game, which I've never been to one so looking forward to that," Brown said.
