
Washington Named ACC Defensive Back of the Week

Washington totaled 12 tackles and returned an interception for a touchdown
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville defensive back Trumaine Washington has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Defensive Back of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Washington was a key contributor in Louisville's 41-17 win over Syracuse on Saturday at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium. With the Cards trailing 10-7 in the second quarter, the sophomore from Miami, Fla., changed the complexion of the game when he picked off his team-leading fourth pass of the season and raced 39 yards for the go-ahead score.
The Killian High product totaled a career-best 12 tackles, 4.0 tackles for loss and one sack as the defense limited Syracuse to 286 yards of total offense and forced three turnovers.
The Cards will close out their home schedule on Saturday, Nov. 14, against Virginia with a 12:30 p.m. kickoff on the Regional Sports Network.
