SERIES
• Louisville improved to 8-6 all-time against Syracuse, including 4-2 at home.
• The Cardinals improved to 2-0 against the Orange in ACC games and have won five of the last six in the series.
TEAM
• Louisville captains for Saturday's ACC home game were seniors James Burgess, Aaron Epps and Sheldon Rankins and juniors Keith Kelsey and Brandon Radcliff.
• Syracuse won the pregame coin toss and deferred to the second half. Louisville elected to receive the opening kickoff, while the Orange chose to defend the north goal.
• Saturday's announced attendance at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium was 46,158.
• Louisville head coach Bobby Petrino improved to 30-4 all-time at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.
• The Cardinals have won five straight games and eight of the last nine contests when scoring first after marching 75 yards on four plays for a touchdown on the opening drive Saturday.
• Saturday marked just the second time this season Louisville has scored a touchdown on its first drive of the game.
• Under the guidance of Petrino, Louisville improved to 44-4 when scoring 30 or more points.
• The 41 points on Saturday were the most for Louisville in an ACC game and the most in any conference game since a 45-17 win over Temple in a Big East game in 2012.
OFFENSE
• Louisville finished with a season-high 579 yards of total offense – the highest total since finishing with 603 yards against Murray State on Sept. 6, 2014.
• The Cardinals' 362 yards passing were the most since the 389 yards through the air against Kentucky on Nov. 29, 2014.
• Louisville surpassed the 200-yard mark in rushing for the fourth time this season finishing with 217 yards (third best in 2015) on 31 carries.
• Sophomore Kyle Bolin set a career high for completions (24) and matched a career high for touchdowns (3) and finished the game with 362 yards on 24-of-35 passing. The three touchdowns equaled his total against Kentucky on Nov. 29, 2014.
• The 362 yards were second highest passing total for Bolin behind only the 381 yards against Kentucky in 2014.
• Bolin's performance produced the most passing yards for a Louisville quarterback this season.
• Junior Brandon Radcliff finished with a season-high 117 yards rushing on 10 carries, highlighted by a career-long 46-yard run in the second half. It was the most yards on the ground for Radcliff since rushing for 136 yards at Notre Dame last season.
• Sophomore Jeremy Smith ran for a career-high 71 yards on career-best 13 carries and scored his third touchdown of the season. The rushing total surpassed his previous high of 58 yards rushing last week at Wake Forest.
• Junior tight end Cole Hikutini scored his first two touchdowns with the Cardinals hauling in a 13-yard score in the second quarter and a 10-yard reception in the third quarter.
• Junior Keith Towbridge caught his first career touchdown pass with the 12-yard reception in the fourth quarter. Towbridge finished with a career-best 53 yards receiving while matching a career-best with three receptions.
• Junior James Quick matched a season-high with five catches and finished with 72 yards receiving, his second highest total of the season.
• With his 19-yard field goal in the third quarter, senior John Wallace became Louisville's career field goals leader with his 61st. Wallace moved ahead of Art Carmody, who connected for 60 field goals from 2004-07.
• The 52-yard reception by sophomore running back L.J. Scott on the opening drive was a career-long. He entered the game with five catches for 38 yards through the first eight games of 2015.
DEFENSE
• Louisville limited an opponent to less than 300 yards of total offense for the fifth time in the last six games after Syracuse closed Saturday's game with 286 yards. The Cardinals have won each of those five games.
• Sophomore Trumaine Washington scored his first touchdown on a 39-yard return following his fourth interception of the season to give Louisville a 14-10 lead in the second quarter.
• Washington's interception for a touchdown was the first Pick-6 for the Cardinals since Gerod Holliman had a 32-yarder at FIU on Sept. 20, 2014.
• The Pick-6 for Washington marked the second touchdown by the Louisville defense this season. Senior defensive end Sheldon Rankins had the first with his 46-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown.
• Along with the interception, Washington led the Cardinals with a career-high 12 tackles, including 11 solo stops. Prior to Saturday, Washington's previous high for tackles was seven against Auburn in the season-opener.
• Washington had 4.0 tackles-for-loss on Saturday, equaling his career total entering the game. He also earned his third career sack and the second this season on Saturday.
• Sophomore Chucky Williams added a career-high eight tackles, one better than his previous high of seven against Houston earlier this season.
• Junior Devonte Fields forced one fumble and added seven tackles, one shy of his season-high of eight accomplished last week at Wake Forest.
