True freshman accounts for 316 yards of total offense in win over UK
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson was named the ACC Rookie of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Jackson earned league honors after his performance coming off the bench in Louisville's 38-24 come-from-behind win over Kentucky last Saturday at Commomwealth Stadium.
The Pompano Beach native accounted for 316 total yards versus the Wildcats to set the school's freshman record for total offense in a season. He rushed for a career-high 186 yards and two touchdowns, while throwing for 130 yards and another touchdown in the regular season finale.
Jackson has nine rushing touchdowns this season, setting another single-season school record for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback. He has also thrown for 1,613 yards and 10 touchdowns in 11 games.
