
Lauren Chamberlain will Headline 2016 Bullpen Club Dinner

Chamberlain holds NCAA home run record and was first overall selection in the 2015 NPF draft
Lauren Chamberlain will be the keynote speaker at the 2016 Class Act Federal Credit Union Louisville Softball Bullpen Club Dinner presented by MPC Promotions. The annual dinner will be held on January 23 at the Brown & Williamson Club at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium. The evening will start with a 6 p.m. reception and the dinner will begin at 7:15 p.m.

"She is certainly one of the best players in the game and is a great ambassador for our sport. Lauren was a formidable opponent during her college years and we are honored to have her share some of her experience with us as we prepare for the 2016 season."

About Lauren Chamberlain
Lauren Chamberlain is known as one of the most dominant hitters in the game of softball. While playing for the University of Oklahoma (2012-15), she helped lead the Sooners to three Women's College World Series appearances and the 2013 national title and earned WCWS All-Tournament Team honors in 2012 and 2013 . The first baseman set the NCAA record for career home runs (95) and slugging percentage (.960); and finished her career ranked in the NCAA all-time list for career runs, walks and RBIs.

The four-time National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-American was a Top 3 Finalist for the 2013 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year and Top 10 Finalist in 2015. She was the Big 12 Freshman of the Year (2012), a three-time member of the All-Big 12 team and a four-time NFCA All Region selection.

Following her senior season that included 2015 Big 12 Female Athlete of the Year honors, Chamberlain was nominated for an ESPY Award in the Best Record Breaking Performance category in 2015. She was also a finalist for the Women's Sports Foundation 2015 Sportswoman of the Year Award.

The first overall pick in the 2015 National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) college draft recently completed her rookie season with the USSSA Pride in the NPF League.

The Trabuco Canyon, Calif., native was a member of the 2010-11 United States Junior Women's National Team and was the 2010 USA Softball Athlete of the Year for the Junior Women's National Team.

The Cardinals finished the 2015 season with a 30-19 overall record after making their 12th consecutive NCAA regional appearance. Louisville returns 13 letterwinners and six starters from last year's squad including seniors Morgan Hart, Hailey Smith, Brittany Sims and All-ACC first team selection junior Maryssa Becker.
