Young earns honors for the second-straight week after recording 3.0 sacks in the win over Wake Forest
LOUISVILLE, KY. - University of Louisville defensive end/linebacker Trevon Young was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Defensive Lineman of the Week for the second consecutive week, the league announced on Monday.
Leading the Cardinals to a 20-19 victory against Wake Forest Friday night, Young tied a career-high with 3.0 sacks and forced a fumble on the game's final play to preserve the Cardinals' fourth win in five games.
In his first season as a starter, Young has been dominant over the last three games, tallying 8.0 sacks, including 6.0 in the last two victories over Boston College on Oct. 24 and Wake Forest last Friday. He ranks seventh in the nation in sacks and is second in the ACC.
Louisville will look to extend its winning streak to three games as the Cardinals host Syracuse on Nov. 7 at 12:30 p.m.
