No. 12/14 Swimming Set to Host Louisville Invitational

Illinois State, Ohio, Wright State and Kenyon College will compete at the Ralph Wright Natatorium
The University of Louisville men's  and women's swimming and diving teams are set to host the Louisville  Invitational Nov. 20-22 at the Ralph Wright Natatorium.The No. 12 ranked women and the  No. 14 ranked men will host Wright State, Illinois State, Ohio University and  Kenyon College.
The Scoop on the Redbirds of Illinois State  University:
The Redbirds fell in a  double-dual meet to in-state rivals Illinois (208-91) and Southern Illinois  (200-96) on Halloween night.ISU highlights included Rachel  Root's first place finish in the 100-yard backstroke event with a time of 57.63  seconds. Root had a third place finish in the 200-yard backstroke event  (2:07.81). Karley Licking touched fourth  in 2:08.10. Courtney Taylor was into the wall second in the 200-yard  breaststroke, going (2:24.69) and was third in the 200-yard individual medley  with a time of 2:10.05.
The Scoop on the Lords and Ladies of Kenyon  College:
UofL head coach Arthur Albiero  began his coaching career at Kenyon College, where he was an assistant from  1996-1999. Kenyon is coming off of a 142.5-157.5 loss to Denison University  most recently. The squad was able to claim nine first-place finishes. A key  contributor to the meet included senior diver Maria Zarka who took first in  both the one-meter (269.40) and three-meter (276.00) events. The Lords and  Ladies don't shy away from steep competition as they took on Ohio State  earlier. The Ladies were beaten by the  Buckeyes 207-88 but Katie Kaestner registered three second-place finishes  against OSU.  She completed the 100  breast event in 1:05.64, which was just .03 seconds away from the top spot, and  she had the runner-up spot in the 200 individual medley (2:11.26) and 200  breast (2:24.39). The Lords, who are the defending NCAA III champions  fell 193-98 to the Buckeyes.
The Scoop on the Cardinals of University of Louisville:
The Cardinals are coming off the Arena  Pro Series that was hosted on the University of Minnesota campus in  Minneapolis, Minn. The Cardinals notches an Olympic berth for Carlos Claverie,  who will swim in Rio for Venezuela. Louisville placed in two  top-three spots thanks to contributions from sophomore Andrea Cottrell and  junior Kelsi Worrell. Cottrell finished third in the 100-meter breaststroke in  1:08.14 while Worrell finished first in the 100-meter butterfly with a time of  57.91.
The Scoop on the Bobcats of Ohio University:
The Bobcats, who are coached by  former UofL associate coach and Olympic gold medallist Rachel Komisarz Baugh,  are fresh from their first win of the season, a 197.5-107.5 victory against  Marshall at home on Nov. 13. The Bobcats had 14 first-place  finishes led by Laura Dawson, who won three individual events the 200-yard  butterfly (2:03.81), the 200-yard backstroke (2:01.51) and the 200-yard IM  (2:05.79). Dawson also helped the Bobcats' "A" team in the 200-yard medley  relay (1:46.26). Bobcat diver Haleigh Bartlett  finished first in both the three-meter and one-meter events with scores of  281.47 and 281.02, respectively.OU sprinter Corrin Van Lanen won  her fourth straight 50-yard event, with a time of 23.71, and won the 100-yard  freestyle in 52.39. Van Lanen helped the 400-yard freestyle relay team win with  a final time of 3:30.41.
The Scoop on the Raiders of Wright State  University:
Wright State swimming and diving  is coming off a tri-meet loss to both Oakland (211-76) and UIC (171-125). The  Raiders were able to come out on top in three events. Senior Samantha TenEyck  won both the one-meter (254.75) and three-meter (248.05) diving competitions,  while junior Emily Hayhow was victorious in the 100-yard fly with a time of  56.98.
