NC State head coach Dave Doeren
Opening ...
"They [Louisville] won the line of scrimmage. We didn't run the ball like we have been this season. They are a good team and their quarterback [Lamar Jackson] made some nice runs. I thought the two turnovers were costly. But, I told our guys we aren't going to stay down. We have to be better. We'll get back to work tomorrow as we have a short week before we play Virginia Tech."
On lack of success running the ball ...
"I said all week that their strength was their defensive line. They are big up front and have a really good defensive line. It was hard for us to get going in the running game."
Â
Louisville head coach Bobby Petrino
Opening Statement …
"It was a very good team win. We played great defense and came up with a lot of great defensive plays. We did a nice job of shutting NC State down and was happy about the fact that we came out and got the lead. I think that's important for us to play with the lead because we have really good pass rushers and guys that can get to the quarterback and make them throw the ball.
"It was a great punt there at the end so it was great to see the special teams play. I wish we didn't give up that one kick off return but it certainly made it exciting. I'm very happy for our players- they worked extremely hard, they stick together and have had a good attitude. They played extremely hard and found a way to win the game."
On last four possessions …
"We're pretty good on defense. We have pretty good defensive front guys that play fast. I felt that we controlled the line of scrimmage at the end and were able to get after the quarterback, and not only sack and hit him but the quarterback's eyes seem to come down and you don't see things down the field. I think it all played into effect that we were so strong and physical."
On fumble recoveries …
"It was good. It was a lot better out there than I thought it was going to be. They did a great job with the field by getting into the condition it was today, the wind wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, we had the rain hold off for the most part and defensively we did a great job."

On turnover by Jumichael Ramos ...
"We had 23 plays on offense in the first half. We had a big play there to Ramos, but fumbled. Anytime you have a big play, it's disappointing to have a turnover. That was a big swing – not just in momentum, but also on the scoreboard.
