
Johnson's Late Three Leads White Team to Victory

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville freshman forward Jaylen Johnson hit a three-pointer with 1.3 seconds remaining to lift his White team to a 67-65 intrasquad scrimmage victory on Thursday afternoon in the Yum! Center, the Cardinals' campus practice facility.
After the Cardinals returned today from their victory at Boston College late last night, the entire team practiced before 10 of the players engaged in an intrasquad scrimmage. Montrezl Harrell and Terry Rozier served as the coaches for the White team, while Wayne Blackshear and Chris Jones coached the Red squad.
Johnson scored 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds and two steals for the White team. Anton Gill led the White team with 23 points and added seven rebounds, two assists and two steals. David Levitch added 13 points and a game-high five assists while Anas Mahmoud totaled seven points, six rebounds and five blocked shots.
Quentin Snider, who led the Red team with 23 points, four assists and hit 5-of-11 three-pointers, had briefly put the Red team ahead with a three-pointer of his own before Johnson's shot. Chinanu Onuaku grabbed a game-high 19 rebounds and added 10 points and three assists for the Red team, which held a 46-33 rebounding advantage. Mangok Mathiang produced 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Louisville (17-3, 5-2 ACC) will play North Carolina (17-4, 7-1 ACC) on Saturday at 4 p.m. in the KFC Yum! Center. The game is a "White Out," with fans encouraged to wear white attire to the game.
