LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville men's basketball's Luke Hancock is competing in the State Farm College 3-Point Championship on Thursday in Moody Coliseum on Southern Methodist University's campus in Dallas, Intersport announced Monday.
The 26th annual event, which begins at 9 p.m. ET, airs live on ESPN and consists of the Quicken Loans Men's 3-Point Championship, the Buick Women's 3-Point Championship, Echo Battle of Champions, and the Denny's Slam Dunk Championship.
Hancock, the 2013 Final Four Most Outstanding Player, has knocked down 131 3-pointers through his two seasons at Louisville. He hit 63 treys last season, including six during the NCAA Tournament, and 68 this year. Over his last 15 games, Hancock has connected on 36-of-90 attempts - or 40 percent of his shots from long range.
The Cardinals, in total, have sent four other student-athletes to the event. Kenny Payne was the only Louisville player to compete in the 3-point competition, which he did in 1989, while Everick Sullivan (1992), Alvin Sims (1997), and Marques Maybin (2001) participated in the dunk competition.
