TEAM NOTES
- Louisville game captains were Lorenzo Mauldin, Will Gardner, Jake Smith, and Sheldon Rankins.
- NC State won the toss and deferred to the second half. Louisville received the ball to open the game.
- Saturday's attendance for Louisville and NC State was 50,227.
- With the victory, the Cardinals became bowl eligible for the fifth-consecutive season and the fifth time under head coach Bobby Petrino.

- Louisville stopped NC State on a fourth-down conversion in the first quarter. The Cardinals' defense now has held opponents to just 1-for-8 on fourth down.
- The Wolfpack converted just six of 14 third downs (43 percent). Louisville is holding opponents this season to just a 24-percent conversion rate (29-of-121).
PLAYER NOTES
- John Wallace's first field goal of the game in the second quarter, his ninth of the season, pushed him past Nate Smith for second on the career chart for field goals made. Wallace, now with 47 field goals, passed Nate Smith (44, 2000-03) and trails only all-time leader Art Carmody (60, 2004-07).

- Wallace connected on three field goals in the game for the first time this season, with the last time coming against Miami in the Russell Athletic Bowl (Dec. 28, 2013).
- DeVante Parker made his season debut against NC State, and on his first snap, hauled in a 37-yard reception the second play of the game. He finished with nine receptions, tying a career high, and 132 yards.

- Parker was the last Louisville player to achieve at least 125 yards receiving, accomplishing the feat against Miami on Dec. 28, 2013.
- Quarterback Will Gardner found Eli Rogers for a 13-yard touchdown, Rogers' second of the season and 11th of his career.
- Michael Dyer logged his first 100-yard game in a Louisville uniform. He finished the game with 173 yards on 24 carries (7.2 average). He scored his lone touchdown of the game - first of the season - on a season-best 46-yard rush with 44 seconds remaining in the game.

- He became the first player with at least 150 yards rushing since Dominique Brown had 151 against Miami on Sept. 1 in the season opener.
- Lorenzo Mauldin moved into No. 10 on the career tackles for loss after recording one in the win, giving him 30.5. He passed Terry Rice-Lockett, who totaled 30 from 1994-97.
- Eli Rogers returned the first punt of the third quarter 47 yards, the longest punt return of his career. It's also the longest punt return of the year, surpassing James Quick's 24-yard return against FIU (Sept. 20).
- John Wallace connected on three of his four field goals for the day. It's the first time this season he has hit three field goals in a game and first time booting three through the uprights against Miami in the Russell Athletic Bowl (Dec. 28, 2013).
- Gerod Holliman picked off his nation-leading eighth pass of the year on the final play of the game. He is tied with Ray Buchanan (1991) for second-most interceptions in a season, only trailing Anthony Floyd's 10 in 2000.
- Aaron Epps earned the first start of his career, while Michael Dyer made his second start in a Louisville uniform.
- UofL beat NC State on Homecoming. Kristi Knop won homecoming queen. She is the granddaughter of Otto Knop, whose No. 56 is an honored UofL football number (1949-52). He was inducted into the UofL Athletic Hall of Fame in 1979, the second induction class. Her father football Otto Jr. lettered at UofL from 1977-79.
