No. 7 Louisville to Host Cincinnati on Saturday

No. 7 Louisville will host Cincinnati on Saturday, Jan. 4 in the KFC Yum! Center at 2:00 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on WHAS (Channels 11.2, Time Warner 432, Comcast 207). The game can also be heard live on the Cards Radio with Matt Andrews and Adrienne Johnson, carried locally on WKRD 790 AM.
The Cardinals enter the game with an overall record of 14-1 and a league record of 2-0. Asia Taylor scored 18 points and Shoni Schimmel added 15 to help No. 7 Louisville beat Temple 77-68 on Wednesday for its seventh straight victory. The Cardinals scored the first nine points of the second half. Schimmel had 10 points and Taylor six during Louisville's 21-4 run that spanned halftime and made it 40-21 with 18:02 left. Temple got within 77-68 with 16 seconds to go, but that's as close as the Owls could get.
Schimmel leads three Cardinals averaging double figures with 16.1 points per game. Hammond ranks second on the team in scoring, averaging 11.0 points. Hammond leads the team in rebounding with 6.6 boards per game. Bria Smith rounds out the top scorers with 10.2 points per game. Taylor ranks second on the team in rebounding with 6.5 per game, while averaging 9.9 points per game.
Cincinnati enters Saturday's game with an overall record of 7-6 and a 0-2 record in conference play. The Bearcats lost to SMU 54-43 on Wednesday. Three Cincinnati starters netted double figures, led by junior Alyesha Lovett's 17 points. Senior Jeanise Randolph and sophomore Jasmine Whitfield followed with 10 points each. Randolph led the way on the glass finishing with nine boards.
Redshirt senior Dayeesha Hollins leads the Bearcats' in scoring with 13.3 points and 3.0 assists per game. Randolph ranks second on the team with 12.2 points per game and leads the team in rebounding with 8.1 boards per game. Lovett rounds out the top three scorers with 8.9 points per game.
