
Men's Golf Finishes Fourth at the BIG EAST Championships

ORLANDO, Fla. - Two University of Louisville men's golfers finished in the top 10, but the Cardinals finished fourth at the 2013 BIG EAST Championship at the Watson Course at Reunion Resort in Orlando, Fla.
The Cardinals, who were two shots off the lead heading into the final round, fired a 2-under par 287, but couldn't overcome South Florida, who shot a 7-under par to hold off St. John's, who was also at 7-under and Notre Dame, who finished the third round at 8-under par.
USF won the tournament by shooting 290-287-281=858. St. John's carded 298-283-281=862, while Notre Dame was third with 288-296-280=864. The Cardinals played well throughout the three-day event with scores of 297-282-287=866.
Robin Sciot-Siegrist and Gus Lundquist led the way for the Cardinals, tying for seventh overall at 217. Sciot-Siegrist and Lundquist shot a 1-over par on Tuesday to keep the Cardinals in contention.
Antoine LeSaux and Max Walz tied for 11th overall. LeSaux fired a 4-under par 68 to end the tournament with 218 and Walz was just as impressive, firing a 3-under par 69.
Charlie Macneal shot an even par 72 on Tuesday to end the day with 227 and tie for 38th overall.
The Cardinals completed its regular season and will await word if the team or any individuals will qualify for the NCAA Regionals on May 16-18.
