LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville men's basketball team travels to Tampa, Fla., for its second contest this season against USF on Sunday, Feb. 17.
Tip is set for 1:02 p.m. and the game will be televised on ESPN, with Rich Hollenberg (play-by-play) and Bob Wenzel (analyst) on the call. The radio broadcast will be available on WHAS 840 AM, as Paul Rogers (play-by-play) and Bob Valvano (analyst) announce the game.
Last time out, No. 12 Louisville (20-5, 8-4 BIG EAST) defeated St. John's, 72-58, in the KFC Yum! Center. Russ Smith led all scorers with 24 points, adding six rebounds, four assists, three steals and zero turnovers. Gorgui Dieng produced his 19th career double-double, scoring 10 points and securing 17 rebounds. Midway through the first half, Smith tied the game at 16 on a foul shot, and from that point, the Cardinals went on a 16-7 run to close out the half. St. John's opened the second half, scoring the first 10 points to take a 33-32 lead. Louisville answered with a 24-10 run to regain the lead, 56-43. Phil Greene led St. John's with 21 points and D'Angelo Harrison added 18.
Through Thursday's contests, Louisville ranks third in turnover margin (+6.2) and steals per game (10.7), and eighth in scoring margin (+15.5).
Coming into Sunday's contest, USF (10-14, 1-11) has dropped seven straight and 11 of its last 12. The lone conference win came against Georgetown on Jan. 19, when the Bulls won 61-58. USF's last loss came at home against Providence, 76-66. The Bulls were led by Victor Rudd's 26 points and 12 rebounds. Providence had four players score in double figures, including Kadeem Batts' 24 points.
The Bulls are under the direction of sixth-year head coach Stan Heath, who has led the program to an 83-105 overall mark. Rudd leads the team in scoring (11.4) and rebounding (6.8). Anthony Collins leads the team with 6.6 assists, which ranks 13th nationally.

Louisville holds a 26-4 advantage in the all-time series against USF. The Cardinals have won 12 of the last 13 meetings, including the last victory that came earlier this year, when the Cardinals won, 64-38, in the KFC Yum! Center. In the victory, the Cardinals were led by Gorgui Dieng's 16 points and 14 rebounds, and Smith added 11 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and two steals. Brandon Mobley had 18 points and seven rebounds in the loss for USF.
