- With the win over St. John's on Thursday night, the Cardinals picked up their 20th win of the season, marking the 11th-straight season to reach the 20-win plateau. The Cardinals are one of nine Division I schools to accomplish the feat. Kansas tops the list with 23 consecutive years, followed by Duke (16), Syracuse (15), Gonzaga (15), Florida (14), Texas (13), Utah State (12), Louisville (11) and Pittsburgh (11).
- Louisville head coach Rick Pitino has won at least 20 games in a season on 21 different occasions, which ranks sixth among active coaches in 20-win seasons and 15th overall. The win tonight over St. John's was Pitino's 295th as head coach of the Cardinals.
- Louisville is 7-0 all-time at home against St. John's with the 72-58 win tonight and holds an 11-4 series advantage over the Red Storm.

- Junior center Gorgui Dieng blocked two shots in the win tonight over St. John's. He has blocked a shot in 77 of 87 career games, including 57 with multiple blocks (12 of 17 games this season). He owns 230 blocks in his career, which still stands second all-time in school history.
- Dieng established a career-high for rebounds with 17, marking the eighth time this season that he has recorded 10 or more rebounds in a game. Dieng has led the Cardinals in rebounding in 14 of his 18 games played this season. It was also the 11th time in 12 league games that he has grabbed eight or more rebounds in a game. His previous high was 16 boards, which he did three times in his career, most recently against Connecticut on Jan. 14, 2013.
- Junior guard Russ Smith led the Cardinals with 24 points, which was the 23rd time this season that he has reached double figures. It also marked the sixth straight-time that he has reached double-digits. Smith's 24 points was the 12th time and eighth in the last 14 contests that he has tallied 20 or more points. Smith also went 12-of-14 from the free-throw line, which was the fifth time this season that he connected on 10 or more free throws in a game.
- Smith added three steals for the Cardinals to give him 53 on the season. Smith entered the game ranked 50th in the nation with 2.1 spg. Guard Peyton Siva, who also ranks in the top 50 in steals collected two thefts in the win.
- Guard Peyton Siva went 4-for-4 from the free-throw line and has now made 27 of his last 29 free throw attempts over the last 14 games.
- Siva handed out six assists for the 14th time in 25 games this year and has 600 for his career.
- Sophomore forward Chane Behanan grabbed eight boards in the win, giving him 30 rebounds (10.0 rpg.) over his last three games.
