Bushell Named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Senior cornerback Adrian Bushell was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday. He is the first U of L player to garner conference honors this season.
Bushell, who recorded 50 tackles a year ago, helped Louisville remain unbeaten with his effort in the Cardinals' 28-21 win at Florida International on Saturday.
The product of DeSoto, Texas, had a team-high seven tackles to go with 0.5 tackles for loss and a pass breakup to lead a defense that held the Golden Panthers to 326 yards of offense and 198 passing yards. Bushell is tied for second on the team with 21 tackles.
The Cardinals travel to Southern Mississippi on Saturday, Sept. 29, for an 8:00 p.m. game, which will be televised by the CBS Sports Network.
