
Philpott Earns NFF Honor

Louisville, Ky. - Former Louisville football student-athlete Chris Philpott is one of 722 players who were named to the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Hampshire Honor Society on Wednesday. The honor society consists of college football players from all divisions of play who maintained a cumulative 3.2 grade point average throughout their college career.
Qualifications for membership into the NFF Hampshire Honor Society include being a starter or a significant substitute in one's last year of eligibility, achieving a 3.2 cumulative grade point average throughout entire course of undergraduate study; and meeting all NCAA-mandated progress towards degree requirements and graduation.
Philpott (Atlanta, Ga.) played in all 13 games for the Cardinals this season and 43 for his career. This season, Philpott booted 12-of-18 field goals, including a school-record tying 52-yard field goal versus Rutgers. He also knocked home a 51-yarder versus Cincinnati. For his career, Philpott was 32-of-44 on field goal attempts in his four years as the Cardinals' place kicker. Philpott is a three-time member of the BIG EAST All-Academic squad.
