LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville men's basketball team will unveil its new, ultra-lightweight adidas adizero uniforms this week at the BIG EAST Tournament from March 6-10 at Madison Square Garden in New York, N.Y.
The Cardinals' new "InfraRED" uniforms will be more than 25 percent lighter than their previous uniforms. The attire features a ClimaCool zone, which moves heat and sweat away from the body for optimal moisture-wicking and breathability to keep jersey from gaining weight, a technology used in the NBA. The shorts worn by Louisville's student-athletes possess a four-way stretch woven material used to increase mobility and speed.
Louisville is one of three adidas-sponsored schools - Cincinnati and Baylor are the other two - selected to don the uniforms for postseason play.
A No. 7 seed in the tournament, Louisville (22-9, 10-8 BIG EAST) will face the winner of the Seton Hall/Providence matchup on Wednesday, March 7, at 7 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPN/ESPN3D.
