NEW ORLEANS - The University of Louisville men's basketball team concluded its pre-NCAA Final Four activities on Friday, March 30, with an open practice and a round of interviews at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, La.
After arriving at the football-stadium-turned-basketball-arena venue, the Cardinals took over the court for a 50-minute open practice in front of fans and students from nearby schools. After stretching, the players participated in drills and a light shoot-around to conclude the session.
Once done, head coach Rick Pitino and student-athletes Jared Swopshire and Chris Smith answered questions about Saturday's game against top-seed Kentucky at a press conference, while reviewing the road to the Final Four. Other players remained in the locker room, discussing the contest and other events that took place this season with a variety local, regional and national media.
Louisville returns to action after winning its Elite Eight game over Florida - a 72-68 victory on March 24 - on March 31 against in-state rival and top-seed Kentucky. The game will be televised on CBS at 6:09 p.m. ET, with Jim Nantz (play-by-play), Clark Kellogg (color), Steve Kerr (color) and Tracy Wolfson (sideline reporter) calling the action. Fans also can listen in to Paul Rogers (play-by-play) and Bob Valvano on WKRD (790 AM) in Louisville.
