TEAM
- Louisville leads the all-time series with Rutgers 10-1, including six straight wins overall. The Cardinals hold a 5-0 advantage in home games against the Scarlet Knights.
 
- Louisville head coach Rick Pitino is 7-1 in his career against Rutgers.
 
- The Cardinals have 30 wins in their last 36 games during the month of February dating back to the 2006-07 season. Since 2005, Louisville is 38-12 in February.
 
- Louisville finished with eight steals on Saturday, which was slightly below the 9.5 per game they were averaging entering the game. The Cardinals ranked second in the BIG EAST and sixth in the nation in steals entering the weekend.
 
- With its 40-25 advantage on the glass, Louisville improved to 14-2 when outrebounding its opponent this season. The Cardinals entered the weekend ranked 22nd in the nation at 39.1 rebounds per game.
 
- The Cardinals finished with seven blocked shots - all by Gorgui Dieng - in the win. Louisville entered the game ranked 29th in the nation averaging 5.1 blocks per game.
 
- U of L is 204-35 when holding its opponent below 70 points over the past 11 seasons under Pitino (16-2 this season).
 
- The Cardinals finished with more made free throws (24) than Rutgers attempted (nine). It marked the fourth time in their last six games they have accomplished that feat and the ninth time overall this season. The 32-9 advantage in free throw attempts for Louisville is the largest this season.
 
- Louisville made just four three-pointers on Saturday, their second lowest total of the season behind only the three against Lamar on Nov. 13.
 
- The Cardinals' 22.2-percent (4-for-18) shooting from beyond the three-point line was their second lowest of the season.
 
PLAYER
- Freshman forward Chane Behanan led the Cardinals in scoring for the third time this season pouring in a career-high 23 points on 11-for-12 shooting from the field. He also added 11 rebounds in the win for his sixth double-double of the season.
 
- The 11 made field goals for Behanan are the most for a Louisville player this season and the most overall since Kyle Kuric's 11 made shots against Providence on March 2, 2011.
 
- In his last five games, Behanan is averaging 14.8 points and 9.4 rebounds while shooting 65.2 percent (30-of-46) from the field.
 
- Sophomore guard Russ Smith finished with 12 points, the fifth time in six games he has reached the double-figure plateau in scoring.
 
- Despite scoring only eight points, senior guard Chris Smith had one of his better all-around games of the season finishing with a career-best and team-high 13 rebounds to go with six assists.
 
- Senior guard Kyle Kuric scored 14 points despite an off-night from the field. In his last seven games, Kuric is averaging 14.1 points per outing.
 
- Sophomore center Gorgui Dieng matched a career-high with seven blocked shots. Entering the game, Dieng led the BIG EAST and ranked sixth nationally in blocked shots at 3.4 per game. He has swatted two or more shots in 20 of 23 games this season.
 
- With his seven blocked shots on Saturday, Dieng took his season total to 81, which ranks sixth on Louisville's single-season blocked shots list. He is just one blocked shot behind Pervis Ellison (19986-87) and Charles Jones (1982-83), who are tied for fifth on the all-time list with 82.
 
- After scoring just one point in the first half, junior guard Peyton Siva finished with 10 points on 3-of-5 shooting from the field. In the last four games (all wins for Louisville), Siva is averaging 10.5 points and 4.5 assists per game while shooting 56 percent (14-for-25) from the field.
