LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville's 2013 football season in the BIG EAST Conference will include another challenging slate of eight games. The eight league games next season will be the most since the Cardinals entered the conference in 2005.
Louisville's home conference opponents will include three new league members, Central Florida, Memphis and San Diego State. Rutgers will also be a home opponent for the Cardinals next season.
The road schedule will also be challenging, featuring one new league member and three existing schools. Louisville will travel to Boise State, Cincinnati, Connecticut and South Florida.
The BIG EAST welcomes six new members to the conference, which includes UCF, Houston, Memphis and SMU who will join the conference as all-sport members. Boise State and San Diego State join as football-only members
The Cardinals return eight starters on offense and 10 starters on defense next season from a team who has won back-to-back BIG EAST titles.
A complete schedule, including dates for the BIG EAST games, is expected in February.
