LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Redshirt senior Will Stein and classmate Alex Kupper spoke with the media Friday afternoon at the Yum! Center a day after the University of Louisville football team's win over Rutgers.
The Cardinals' 20-17 victory Thursday night over the Scarlet Knights ensured Louisville a share of the BIG EAST Conference title for the second-straight season and the league's BCS bid. Despite being outscored in the first half, Louisville outpaced Rutgers 17-3 in the second, including two touchdowns within 10 seconds of each other. The Cardinals' offense held the advantage in time of possession, 42:11 to 17:49, while the defense limited Rutgers to just nine first downs.
Stein finished the game 8-of-11 passing for 59 yards, had 19 yards rushing and registered six first downs.
Louisville now awaits announcement of the BCS bowl games, which takes place Sunday night, Dec. 2, on ESPN. The show starts at 8:30 p.m. ET.
