TEAM
- With their seventh straight win against DePaul, the Cardinals improved to 36-21 all-time in the series, which dates back to 1957. Louisville is 21-2 against the Blue Demons since the two programs have been in the same conference (1995-2005 in Conference USA, 2006-present in BIG EAST)
 
- Louisville head coach Rick Pitino improved to 11-2 in his career against DePaul with all 13 games being played while with the Cardinals.
 
- With Saturday's win, the Cardinals halted their two-game losing skid and avoided their first three-game losing streak since Jan. 11-21, 2010 (vs. #4 Villanova, at #16 Pittsburgh & at Seton Hall).
 
- Louisville ended a two-game losing streak at the KFC Yum! Center and avoided its first three-game home losing streak since the 2000-01 season.
 
- The 76 points for Louisville is the most since its 95-87 win over Memphis on Dec. 17.
 
- The Cardinals' 13 steals is just two short of a season-high and is tied for the third highest total of the season. Through Jan. 12, Louisville ranked ninth in the nation at 9.5 steals per game.
 
- Louisville held DePaul to just 34.3 percent (23-of-67) shooting from the field on Saturday. The Cardinals ranked fifth in the nation in field goal percentage defense at 36.6 percent through Jan. 12.
 
- With its 41-33 advantage on the glass, U of L improved to 12-1 this season when outrebounding its opponent. The 41 rebounds on Saturday is slightly higher than the 39.2 per game average the Cards had entering the day, which ranked 13th nationally.
 
- Louisville was 29-of-57 from the field (50.9 percent) for its highest percentage since it was 35-of-63 (55.6 percent) in a win against IUPUI on Dec. 7. It was also the fourth-highest field goal percentage of the season for the Cardinals.
 
- The Cardinals held DePaul to just 59 points, more than 17 points below its season average (76.9). It marked the 11th time in 18 games this season Louisville has held an opponent to 60 or less points.
 
PLAYER
- Louisville played without leading scorer and senior forward Kyle Kuric, who missed the game with a sprained ankle. Kuric started each of the Cardinals' previous 17 games this season.
 
- Sophomore guard Russ Smith, who made his fourth start of the season and first since Memphis on Dec. 17, 2011, scored 16 points in the first half and finished with a 25 overall, the second-highest total of his career. It marks the fifth time this season Smith has led the Cardinals in scoring.
 
- The 22 attempts from the field by Russ Smith are the most for a Louisville player this season and the most overall since Taquan Dean attempted 23 shots (7-for-23) from the field in the Cardinals' 89-86 overtime win against Notre Dame on Feb. 4, 2006.
 
- Smith also added six assists, just one shy of his career-best total of seven against St. John's on Jan. 3.
 
- Sophomore center Gorgui Dieng finished with 13 points and 14 rebounds for his seventh double-double of the season and the eighth of his career. It is his first double-double since Dec. 23 against Western Kentucky (13 points, 15 rebounds).
 
- Dieng finished with four blocks, including three in the first half. Through Jan. 12, he led the BIG EAST and ranked seventh nationally at 3.2 swats per game.
 
- After going five straight games without reaching double-figures in scoring, senior guard Chris Smith reached the double-figure plateau for the second consecutive game on Saturday with a Louisville career-high 20-point effort. He matched a Louisville career-high with four three-pointers. Overall, he has scored in double-figures in eight games this season.
 
- The seven assists for junior guard Peyton Siva are the most since he had a career-best nine in back-to-back wins against Fairleigh Dickinson (Dec. 10) and Memphis (Dec. 17).
 
- Freshman guard Kevin Ware had his most productive game of the season scoring a career-high six points with a career-best four rebounds in 16 minutes, which matched a career high.
 
- Freshman center Zach Price saw game action for the first time since Dec. 10 against Fairleigh Dickinson.
