Louisville, Ky. - -
The University of Louisville football team returned to the practice field Monday in full pads for another two-a-day practice during fall camp. Here are some new and notes from the morning practice:
* The Cardinals worked for 25 periods in full pads and concluded with team work. The first team units on offense and defense worked soley against each other, as did the second teams.
* Freshman Lorenzo Mauldin has made the transition to tight end. He has shown good hands and speed from that position. Mauldin was moved to give the Cardinals some bodies at that position due to injuries to Nate Nord and Stephon Ball. However, both Ball and Nord are slated to return to practice in the next few days.
* Jordan Tennyson, who started camp at tight end, also moved to the defensive end position. * The offense looked better throwing the football this morning. Senior Josh Bellamy continues to have a good camp and is ready to be a big-play performer.
* Wide receiver Michaelee Harris, who is playing with a soft cast on his thumb, made a couple of great cathes during team work, including an acrobatic catch off a deflection from cornerback Charles Gaines.
* Coach Kenny Carter likes the backfield of Victor Anderson and Jeremy Wright. He think they have the potential to be two very special backs this season. He also likes the continued development of Senorise Perry and Corvin Lamb.
* Defensive tackle Greg Scruggs thinks freshman defensive back Terell Floyd is going to be a special player for the Cardinals. Coaching staff also raves about the potential of offensive guard Jon Miller, who has received a lot of snaps this summer.
* The Cardinals practice again this afternoon and have just two more two-a-day practices before school begins on Monday.
