LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville men's basketball fans are encouraged to wear white for the Cardinals' Feb. 27 game against Pittsburgh in an effort to "White Out" the KFC Yum! Center.
The official "White Out" and "Red Out" shirts, which are reversible and inspired by Louisville native Muhammad Ali, may be purchased for the game, which will be televised to a CBS national audience.
The Cardinals have been successful in three of their four previous "White Out" promotions. U of L knocked off Connecticut 68-54 on Jan. 22, 2007, beat No. 9 Georgetown on Feb. 9, 2008, won 62-58 over Marquette on March 1, 2009 and fell 84-92 to No. 4 Villanova on Jan. 11, 2010 when Freedom Hall -- the Cards' previous home -- was a bright white.
The Cardinals' final home game against Providence on March 2 will be its annual "Wear Red for the Seniors" night.
