Louisville, Ky. - - University of Louisville defensive line coach Clint Hurtt received one of the greatest compliments for an assistant coach when he received the nation's highest accolade for recruiting.
One week after signing the highest-ranked recruiting class in school history, Hurtt was named as the national Recruiter of the Year by ESPN.
Hurtt, who is in his second year as the Cardinals' recruiting coordinator, helped Louisville sign a class of 20 players -- including 12 from Florida -- in a class ranked No. 21 in the country by ESPN and in the top 30 of other recruiting sites.
"Coach Hurtt has a number of solid recruiting contacts in the state of the Florida and that was one of the main reasons why I hired him," said Charlie Strong. "He's a great person and a tremendous football coach. He is very deserving of this honor."
