Charlotte, N.C. - The University of Louisville football began preparations for the 2011 Belk Bowl with a two-hour practice on Thursday at Latin High School in Charlotte, N.C.
Louisville practiced at 12:25 p.m, during a consistent rain shower, but that didn't dampen the spirts for the Cardinals, who are making their second straight bowl appearance.
"It was a good practice in difficult weather conditions," said head coach Charlie Strong. "This is a great place for us to practice and the guys were excited to get out on the field today. We arrived here yesterday and got settled. After practice today, the players to get go on a shopping spree, which will be fun for them."
The Cardinals went through meetings in the morning, and some of the younger players lifted before practice at Latin High School.
Louisville prepared for the match-up with ACC-foe NC State, who is also 7-5 and have won three of its last four games. The Cardinals conducted four periods of preparations against the Wolfpack's offensive and defensive formations.
"We had a good practice today," said freshman quarterback Teddy Bridgewater. "It was good to get back on the field out here today and prepare for NC State. They are a good football team. They are playing well and expect a great challenge from them."
Louisville will hit the practice field again on Friday at 12:25 p.m. at Latin High School.
