TEAM
- Louisville improves to 10-3 all-time versus Ohio, including 8-0 in Louisville. UofL's last loss to the Bobcats came on March 10, 1964, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament (won three straight since).
- Head coach Rick Pitino is now 6-0 in his career against OU (3-0 with Louisville, 3-0 with Kentucky).
- The Cardinals were facing a MAC opponent for the first time since the last meeting with Ohio (Dec. 7, 2008). Louisville is a combined 23-5 against current members of the league.
- UofL has now allowed 54 points or less in all five games to start the season, the first time the Cards have held five consecutive opponents under 55 points since a 12-game string from Dec. 18, 1945-Feb. 2, 1946.
- Louisville, Missouri State, and Wisconsin are the only three schools in the nation to yield fewer than 55 points in every game this season. Only five schools have allowed fewer than 60 in all of their contests (also Virginia and Wyoming).
Allowed fewer than 55 points in every game, 2011-12 season
Louisville (UT Martin 48, Lamar 48, Butler 53, Arkansas State 27, Ohio 54)
Missouri State (Nevada 46, Arkansas State 46, Emporia State 45)
Wisconsin (Kennesaw State 31, Colgate 41, Wofford 33, UMKC 31, Bradley 43)
- The Cards have held seven consecutive home opponents to 60 points or fewer, the longest streak for UofL since allowing 60 or less to nine straight Freedom Hall opponents from Dec. 26, 2007-Feb. 18, 2008. Louisville is permitting the opposition just 58.1 points per game at the KFC Yum! Center since its inception, including 44.3 this year.
- The victory was the 250th (250-96) at Louisville for Pitino, who becomes the eighth Division I coach to record 250 wins at one school and 200 at another (also 219-50 in eight seasons at Kentucky). Pitino is 604-224 (.729) overall in his 27th year on the sidelines.

Jim Calhoun, 1973-Present (Northeastern 248, Connecticut 611)
Hugh Durham, 1967-95 (Florida State 230, Georgia 297)
Lou Henson, 1963-96, '98-'05 (Illinois 423, New Mexico State 226)
Ralph Miller, 1952-89 (Wichita State 220, Oregon State 342)
Rick Pitino, 1976, '79-'83, '86-'87, '90-'97, '02-Present (Kentucky 219, Louisville 250)
Norm Sloan, 1952-55, '57-'89 (Florida 232, NC State 266)
Eddie Sutton, 1972-89, '91-'06, '08 (Arkansas 260, Oklahoma State 368)
Roy Williams, 1989-Present (Kansas 418, North Carolina 229)
- Pitino, Calhoun, and Williams are the three active coaches on the list.
- Coupled with its 8-0 start last season, Louisville has started 5-0 in consecutive seasons for the first time since the 1954-55 and 1955-56 campaigns (6-0 and 8-0, respectively).
- The contest was the second of a string of 10 consecutive home games for UofL, tying the school record. The Cards also played 10 straight at home from Dec. 8-30, 2006, and from Nov. 16-Dec. 18, 2010.
- Louisville won its 13th consecutive game at home dating back to a New Year's Eve defeat at the hands of Kentucky last season. That streak is UofL's longest since winning 15 straight home games from Jan. 10-Dec. 27, 2008.
- A win over Long Beach State on Monday would give the Cardinals their 16th different home win streak of 14 games or longer.
- The Cards are 23-2 in 25 games at the KFC Yum! Center.
- The win gives Louisville its 26th regular-season tournament championship and the Global Sports Invitational title (finished 4-0) for the second consecutive year. Ohio had also been 3-0 in the tourney, beating UT Martin 74-65, Lamar 85-78 (OT), and Arkansas State 69-54.
- Ohio's 23 points in the first half made it eight consecutive halves at the KFC Yum! Center in which the opposing team scored 25 points or less. The Bobcats' 31 points in the second period were the most by an opponent in a half this season.
- Louisville's 21 offensive rebounds were its second-highest total over the past two seasons, bested only by the Cards' 23 offensive boards in the overtime win against Notre Dame in last year's BIG EAST semifinals. UofL has not had more in a non-overtime contest since recording 23 in a loss against Villanova on Jan. 11, 2010.
PLAYER
- Sophomore Gorgui Dieng finished with 10 points and a career-high 16 rebounds in the game, his second career double-double and third career 10-rebound outing. His other double-double came against UConn on Feb. 18 of last season (13 points, 12 rebounds), while his other 10-rebound game was against Gardner-Webb (11 on Nov. 18, 2010).
- Dieng is the first Cardinal with a 16-rebound game since the 2008-09 season, when Earl Clark (16 versus Ole Miss on Dec. 18) and Terrence Williams (16 against Notre Dame on Jan. 12) both reached the mark. No Louisville player has had more since Ellis Myles recorded 18 against Saint Louis on Feb. 20, 2005.

16 - Ellis Myles vs. Lafayette (12.4.04)
16 - Ellis Myles vs. Air Force (11.23.02)
- Ten of Dieng's 16 boards came on the offensive side of the floor, making him the first Cardinal to gather 10 offensive rebounds in one game since Ellis Myles had 10 (18 total) on Jan. 12, 2002, against TCU. No Cardinal has had more since Myles registered 14 in a win over Tennessee State that season (Dec. 1).

- Of Dieng's 16 boards, 12 came in the second half, including seven of his offensive rebounds. The 12 rebounds tie for the most by a Cardinal in one half over the last 10 seasons, equaled by Luke Whitehead in the second half on March 15, 2003, against UAB, and by Ellis Myles in the second half on Dec. 28, 2002, against Kentucky.

- Dieng also registered his fifth consecutive multi-block game (ending with two) to begin the year. That streak is two short of the Louisville record for consecutive two-block games to start a year, a mark set by Pervis Ellison during the 1985-86 national championship season.
Consecutive multi-block games to begin season, Louisville history
1. 7 - Pervis Ellison, 1985-86 (4-2-2-2-2-3-5)
2. 6 - Terrence Jennings, 2010-11 (4-3-3-6-2-3)
3. 5 - Gorgui Dieng, 2011-12 (5-4-2-4-2)
- Dieng's 17 blocks through five games are one short of the school record of 18, set by Terrence Jennings last season.
- Dieng remains one of eight players in Division I to record multiple blocks in each of his team's games this season.

C.J. Aiken, St. Joseph's (5-6-4-2-4)
Anthony Davis, Kentucky (5-7-3-3-4)

Chris Udofia, Denver (4-6-5-2)
- Junior Peyton Siva's 4-for-4 day from the line in his return to the court extended his streak of consecutive free throws made to 13 since missing his first try of the season against UT Martin. Siva has connected on 16 of his last 17 free throw attempts dating back to last season.
- Siva handed out six assists on the night as well, the seventh time in his last nine games he has had six or more helpers. He is averaging 6.3 assists per game over that span, a rate that has been eclipsed just once in school history over a full season (6.5 per game for Labradford Smith in 1989-90).
- Sophomore Russ Smith's three-pointer at the 13:10 mark of the first half was his fifth straight make from behind the arc (hit his last try at Butler and all three against Arkansas State). He would miss his second attempt of the evening to end the streak.
- Smith finished with seven points in the game, his fourth game of at least seven points this season. He also nabbed a steal, giving him at least one in every contest this year.
- Smith tied a career mark with three assists in the game (with no turnovers).
- Senior Chris Smith finished with eight points on Friday, leaving him just 31 shy of 1,000 for his career (including his 596 points in two seasons at Manhattan).
- Smith dished out one assist without a turnover in the contest, extending his turnover-free streak to 68 minutes dating back to the second half of the Butler game. He has eight assists during that stretch.
- Senior Kyle Kuric's three blocks set a new a career high, while his four steals - including a huge one that led to the go-ahead basket with 1:49 to play - tied a career mark. Kuric has three games with 3+ steals already this season.
- Three blocks and four steals in one game? That feat had not been accomplished by a Cardinal in nearly 12 years. Dion Edward was the last to turn the trick, stuffing three shots and recording five steals in a 78-58 win over the UCF Golden Knights on Dec. 15, 1999. Only nine different Cardinals have ever put together such a performance.

- Freshman Chane Behanan collected seven more rebounds in the game, giving him six or more in all five games of his career (9.0 average).
