TEAM
- Louisville improves to 4-0 all-time against Lamar, winning each of the matchups by at least 20 points (average scoring margin of +22.3). Lamar becomes the 11th opponent in UofL history the Cards have faced at least four times without suffering a loss, joining Tampa (10-0), Louisiana-Lafayette (8-0), Austin Peay (6-0), Tennessee State (5-0), Cleveland State (4-0), Fordham (4-0), Furman (4-0), Loyola (La.) (4-0), Wittenberg (4-0), and Wyoming (4-0).
- In Louisville history, Lamar is the only school UofL has faced four or more times and beaten by 20+ points on each occasion.
- The win extends the Cardinals' home win streak to 11 games dating back to a 78-63 loss to Kentucky on Dec. 31, 2010. The streak is Louisville's longest since ripping off 15 consecutive home victories from Jan. 10-Dec. 27, 2008.
- Louisville improves to 21-2 at the KFC Yum! Center.
- The Cards are now 6-0 all-time in the Global Sports Invitational (4-0 last season, 2-0 this year), with two more games to come (Nov. 22 vs. Arkansas State, Nov. 25 vs. Ohio).
- With just 48 points by the opposing Cardinal bunch, Louisville has now allowed 60 points or fewer in five straight home games and seven of eight dating back to last season. The five-game string is UofL's longest since the Cards held six straight Freedom Hall foes to 60 or less from March 2-Dec. 8, 2008 (the last of which was Lamar).
- Opponents are averaging only 59.6 points per outing in 23 games at the new arena, including 48.0 this season.
- Louisville has held back-to-back opponents to less than 50 points for the first time since Dec. 26-29, 2007 (49 for Morehead State, 36 for Iona) and consecutive opponents to 48 points or fewer for the first time since Dec. 24-31, 2005 (48 for Detroit, 43 for the Miami Hurricanes). It has held its first two opponents of the season to fewer than 50 points for the first time since the 1949-50 campaign (44 for Kentucky Wesleyan, 47 for Georgetown College).
- The 48 points were the fewest for Lamar in a game since the Cardinals scored 47 in a loss to Ohio on Nov. 23, 2009, a span of 60 games. Lamar ranked fifth in Division I last season with an 82.1 scoring average and scored 100 points six times (second nationally to Oakland).
- Should the Cards hold Butler to less than a half-century's worth of points on Saturday, it will mark the first time UofL has yielded fewer than 50 points in back-to-back-to-back games since a three-game stretch in 1958 (47, 43, and 49 for Stetson, Alabama, and Wittenberg, respectively, from Dec. 11-17).
- Louisville held Lamar without a field goal for the game's first 5:09 before Charlie Harper's fastbreak layup ended the drought. Lamar was 0-for-9 from the floor during that stretch.
- After making their first basket, the LU Cardinals missed eight more to begin the game 1-for-18 from the field. After that make, they missed eight more again for a 2-for-27 (.074) start to the contest.

- The combined shooting percentage of Louisville's opponents this season - .261 (31-for-119) - is the lowest opponent mark over any two-game stretch in the past 40 seasons. The previous low had been the .275 (36-for-131) clip put together by Jackson State and UNLV in the above games.
- The Cards improve to 2-0 for the fifth straight season, giving coach Rick Pitino his 601st career win in the process.
PLAYER
- On the heels of a 14-point, 12-rebound performance in his first career game on Friday night, freshman Chane Behanan notched another double-double on Sunday, finishing with 10 points and 13 rebounds. In so doing, Behanan became the first known Cardinal freshman to record double-doubles in his first two career games. On Friday, he became just the second Cardinal freshman since 1972-73 to record a double-double in his debut, joining Larry Williams (10 points, 14 rebounds against Memphis in the '75-'76 opener).
- Behanan is the first Cardinal to record back-to-back double-doubles since Samardo Samuels from Dec. 23-27, 2009. Samuels had 29 points and 15 boards against Louisiana-Lafayette and followed that up with an 18-point, 14-rebound outing against Radford. He is the first Louisville rookie to accomplish the feat since Juan Palacios from Jan. 29-Feb. 2, 2005 (11 points, 10 rebounds at Tulane; 17 points, 10 rebounds vs. Cincinnati).
- No Louisville player has had back-to-back double-doubles to begin a season since Earl Clark had three consecutive double-doubles to open the 2007-08 slate. Since 1972-73, only four different Cardinals have started a season with consecutive double-doubles, with Luke Whitehead (2003-04) and Herbert Crook (1986-87) also on that list.
Consecutive double-doubles to open season, since 1972-73
3 - Earl Clark, 2007-08 (10 pts, 11 reb vs. Hartford; 20 pts, 14 reb vs. Jackson St.; 16 pts, 13 reb at UNLV)
2 - Chane Behanan, 2011-12 (14 pts, 12 reb vs. UT Martin; 10 pts, 13 reb vs. Lamar)
2 - Luke Whitehead, 2003-04 (18 pts, 14 reb vs. Iowa; 22 pts, 10 reb vs. WKU)
2 - Herbert Crook, 1986-87 (13 pts, 14 reb vs. Northeastern; 19 pts, 15 reb vs. Washington)
- With another double-double against Butler, Behanan would become the first Cardinal with three straight double-doubles since Earl Clark from Feb. 12-18, 2009, and the first freshman to accomplish the feat since Pervis Ellison in the final three games of UofL's 1985-86 national championship season.
- Behanan is the first Cardinal freshman with 13 rebounds in a game since Samuels had a baker's dozen against Ole Miss on Dec. 18, 2008. No freshman has had more in one game since Jan. 2, 2005, when Juan Palacios notched 14 against Tennessee State at Freedom Hall. The instance of a 13-board game by a rookie has happened just 19 times in the last 40 seasons, chronicled below:

8. 13 - Rodney McCray vs. Illinois (12.29.79)
8. 13 - Ricky Gallon vs. Western Kentucky (12.26.74)
- Behanan's 25 rebounds through two games tie for the second most by a Cardinal over the first two games of the season (since '72-'73), topped only by Crook's 29 to start the '86-'87 campaign.
- Behanan made the first seven shots of his career (six on Friday, one on Sunday) before missing for the first time. He is 10-for-13 (.769) from the field through two contests.
- Sophomore Gorgui Dieng notched four blocks in the contest after collecting five in the opener, making him the first Cardinal to record back-to-back four-block games to begin a season and giving him the most blocks for an individual through two games in Louisville history.
- Dieng has now recorded 4+ blocks in back-to-back games three times in his career, encompassing six of his seven career four-block outings. No Louisville player has had three straight games with four or more blocks since Felton Spencer from Dec. 16-30, 1989 (six against New Mexico, five against Austin Peay, four against Kentucky).
Gorgui Dieng, consecutive four-block games
5 vs. UT Martin (11.11.11), 4 vs. Lamar (11.13.11)
5 vs. Seton Hall (1.5.11), 5 at USF (1.9.11)
4 vs. Drexel (12.14.10), 7 vs. Gardner-Webb (12.18.10)
- Dieng also snagged nine boards in the game, the third-highest total of his career behind 12- and 11-rebound outings against Connecticut (Feb. 18) and Gardner-Webb (Dec. 18), respectively, last season.
- Senior Kyle Kuric picked up three steals in the contest, his second consecutive and fifth career game with a trio of thefts. The others came on Dec. 5, 2009, against Charlotte (three), Nov. 22, 2010, against Chattanooga (four), and March 2, 2011, versus Providence (three).
- Louisville held Mike James, Lamar's leading returning scorer and owner of a 52-point game last season, to just four points on 2-for-14 shooting, including 0-for-5 from downtown.
