
Swopshire Will Have Surgery to Repair Groin Injury

PHILADELPHIA - University of Louisville junior forward Jared Swopshire will have surgery later this month to repair a groin injury that has kept him on the sidelines since August.
Swopshire was examined this morning by Dr. William C. Meyers of Core Performance Physicians in Philadelphia. Dr. Meyers will perform the surgery later this month in Philadelphia. Swopshire is expected to return to athletic activities within eight weeks after the surgery.
The Cardinals' lone returning starter from last season, Swopshire averaged 7.5 points and 6.1 rebounds as a sophomore. He grabbed at least seven rebounds in 16 games and was a double-digit scorer on 12 occasions.
