Baton Rouge, La. - The University of Louisville's men's and women's track and field teams won three event titles on Saturday at the LSU Relays hosted by Louisiana State University.

The Cardinal women were led by senior Kelsey Page. Page won the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 11:18.03 while second-place finished 46 seconds later. Page, a Borden, Ind. native, ran the sixth-best 3,000m steeplechase in school history. Page holds the school record time of 11:03.50 which she set at the BIG EAST Championships last year.

Senior Kat Alcorn won the 1,500 meter run. Alcorn, a native of Hebron, Ky., finished in a time of 4:46.24.

Junior D'Ana McCarty finished third in the discus with a toss of 162-09 (49.62m).

On the men's side, senior Steven Hnat won the shot put with a heave of 59-04.75 (18.10m). Hnat, the defending BIG EAST Champion in the shot put, is not wasting anytime starting the outdoor season with a win in his first meet since last season. Junior Weston Banks, the 2010 BIG EAST Indoor Shot Put Champion, finished third with a toss of 56-08.00 (17.27m).

Senior Scott McClain finished second in the 3,000m steeplechase. The Louisville native and St. Xavier HS graduate finished with a time of 9:12.92.

The Cards will return to action on April 2-3 as athletes will compete at the Mike Poehlein Invitational hosted by Purdue in West Lafayette, Ind.
