Football Players Visit Hospital
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Despite not having practice on Monday, members of the University of Louisville football team were still in action, visiting kids at the All Children's Hospital on Monday morning in St. Petersburg, Fla.
Along with director of strength and conditioning Pat Moorer and defensive coordinator Vance Bedford, nine student-athletes - Cameron Graham, Adam Froman, Bilal Powell, Doug Beaumont, Johnny Patrick, Rodney Gnat, Byron Stingily, Josh Byrom and Mark Wetterer - and members of the Ladybirds went to the children's hospital, bearing gifts and smiles. The Cardinals went door to door, talking with kids and their parents, while spreading holiday joy to all those around - including hospital visitors and workers.
Prior to making their visits, the Cardinal football players and coaches met with former NFL veteran, Mike Alstott, an 11-year veteran with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Alstott, who spent time speaking with the Cardinals and visiting patients with them, has spent much of his time lately with the Mike Alstott Family Foundation.
The Cardinals handed out football helmets, hats and other memorabilia during their hour-long visit.
On Tuesday, Dec. 21, Louisville will face Southern Miss in the Beef `O' Brady's Bowl at Tropicana Field. The game is set to take place at 8 p.m. ET and will be televised nationally by ESPN.
