TEAM
- Louisville won its sixth consecutive game over Marshall and ninth in the past 10 meetings. The Thundering Herd have not defeated the Cardinals since Jan. 21, 1950 (96-72). U of L now leads the all-time series 10-5.
- With six treys on Saturday, Louisville has now made at least five threes in 24 consecutive games, the seventh-longest active streak in the country. The only squads with longer current strings (after Saturday afternoon's games) are VMI (75), St. Mary's (44), Northern Colorado (35), Chattanooga (31), Weber State (28), and Eastern Kentucky (25), while Canisius is tied with the Cards at 24.
- After starting the game 12-for-20 (.600) from the floor, the Cards went just 1-for-11 (.091) from the field during Marshall's 15-4 run to end the first half. However, Louisville would catch fire again to start the second, hitting nine of its first 14 shots (.643) of the period.
- Both Louisville and Marshall had more offensive than defensive rebounds in the first stanza. The Cards had 10 offensive and nine defensive boards while the Herd had 14 and nine, respectively.
- Louisville's opponents have combined for 36 turnovers and just 16 assists in the first halves of games this season. Every Cardinal foe thus far has had at least twice as many turnovers as assists in the first stanza (Marshall had nine turnovers and four assists in the first period on Saturday).
- The Cardinals have now notched double-digit steals in all four games this season, the first four-game streak for Louisville since March 4-14, 2009 (five games) and the first such streak to open a season for the Cards since at least the 1985-86 season.

- U of L's seven first-half blocks (six by Terrence Jennings) were its most in any half since collecting eight in the second half of a 69-55 win over Villanova in the 2009 BIG EAST Championship (March 13). Ironically, the Cardinals last had more first-half blocks the last time U of L played Marshall (eight on Dec. 18, 2007).
- Louisville's 11 total blocks were its most in one game since Dec. 29, 2007 (13 in 67-36 win over Iona).
PLAYER
- Junior Terrence Jennings blocked six Thundering Herd shots in the game, a career high and the most by a Louisville player since Kendall Dartez had nine on Dec. 7, 2003, against Holy Cross. The six blocks are tied for the 14th most in a game in Louisville history.
- All six of Jennings' blocks came in the first half.
- On Monday against Chattanooga, Jennings became the first Cardinal since Dartez during the 2003-04 season to block three or more shots in three consecutive games. On Saturday, Jennings needed just 2:40 to extend that streak to four games, as he blocked three of Marshall's first four shots from the field. He becomes the first Louisville player to have a four-game streak since Samaki Walker from Jan. 7-19, 1995 (seven versus Notre Dame, three at Virginia Tech, four against Southern Miss, and seven at Charlotte).
- No Cardinal has blocked three or more shots in five straight games since Pervis Ellison did so from Jan. 20-30, 1988 (four at Cincinnati, three versus Purdue, four at Dayton, four at Southern Miss, and three at Memphis).

- Jennings leads the BIG EAST with 4.0 blocks per game this season, a per-game average that would be a Louisville record for a full season (Ellison set the mark with 3.2 per game in 1988-89). His six-block game was the 32nd multi-block contest of his career as well as his 15th with at least three blocks, his seventh with at least four, and his second with five or more. Jennings now has at least one block in 10 of Louisville's last 11 games.
- Jennings tied a career high with six free throw attempts (made four) in the game.
- Sophomore Stephan Van Treese set a new career high with three steals against Marshall. After recording one steal last season in 15 games, Van Treese now has at least one steal (seven total) in all four of Louisville's games this year. The forward also set new career bests with eight points, four field goals made, and six field goal attempts.
- Sophomore Mike Marra and freshman Elisha Justice continue to take care of the ball this season, combining for eight assists and two turnovers against Marshall. Together, the two now have 31 assists and just eight turnovers (3.88 ratio) this year. Neither has ever turned the ball over more than once in a college game.
- Marra, who tied his career high with five assists (a mark he has now achieved three times this season), ranks second in the BIG EAST with a 4.75 assist-to-turnover ratio (19 assists, four turnovers). He trails only Joe Mazzulla of West Virginia (6.67; 20 assists, three turnovers) in that category.
- Marra also tied career highs in points (12), free throws made (four), free throws attempted (four), and rebounds (five).
